Job Title: School Facilities Inspector 
Reports To: Owner / Lead Inspector 
Location: Various school facilities across Illinois 
Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week (between 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) 
Compensation: TBD  

Position Summary: Allied Inspection Services, LLC - a nationally recognized leader in school facility operations - is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable School Facilities Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of school buildings and grounds to ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, technologically proficient, and committed to upholding the highest standards in educational environments. 

Key Responsibilities: Conduct scheduled inspections of school facilities, including classrooms, mechanical rooms, roofs, athletic areas, and exterior grounds. Identify and document safety hazards, maintenance needs, and compliance issues in accordance with state and district standards. Walk long distances (up to 450,000 sq. ft. per site) and navigate uneven surfaces, stairs, and ladders as part of inspections. Operate inspection tools and technology, including smartphones, tablets, and digital reporting software. Take clear, detailed photographs and notes to support inspection findings. Communicate inspection results promptly and professionally to facility leadership. Follow established inspection protocols and maintain accurate records. Represent Allied Inspection Services with professionalism and integrity at all times. Adhere to all safety guidelines and school district policies while on site. 

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in facility operations, building maintenance, or safety compliance preferred. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Ability to pass a criminal background check required for working in schools. Physical ability to walk long distances, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise). Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and basic office software. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. 

Preferred Skills & Experience: (Nice to Have) Prior experience in facility inspections, custodial supervision, maintenance, or safety compliance. Knowledge of Illinois school facility standards and regulations. Familiarity with OSHA safety guidelines and building codes. 

Work Environment: Inspections take place in active school environments after school hours. Work involves frequent walking, climbing, bending, and exposure to varying temperatures and conditions. Travel between multiple school sites may be required.
